Building Leaders in Artificial Intelligence
Community Guidelines
Applied AI is built on open, practitioner-to-practitioner learning, and these guidelines exist to protect that. Below you'll find our Speaker Expectations, which apply to anyone taking the stage, the mic, or the front of the room, and our Code of Conduct, which applies to everyone at our events. Together, they add up to something simple: show up to learn, share generously, and treat everyone with respect.
Speaker Expectations
We ask community (non-sponsored) speakers at meetups, conference sessions, and on the podcast to keep the following in mind:
Teach, don't sell. Share what you've built, what worked, what didn't, and what you learned. It's fine to say who you are and where you work, and if attendees want to reach out afterward, great. But your talk should never function as a sales pitch for your product, service, or firm. If people leave having learned something they can use, you've done it right. If they leave feeling like they sat through an ad, you haven't.
Recordings. Recording is always at the speaker's discretion, so just let us know your preference ahead of time. If a session is recorded, Applied AI decides whether and where to post it to ensure it reflects our educational mission.
Not sure if something crosses the line? Ask us before the event. We're happy to help you shape a talk that lands well.
Sponsored featured-speaker slots come through our sponsorship program and carry their own clearly labeled expectations.
Code of Conduct
Applied AI events exist so people can learn together. That only works when everyone feels safe and welcome.
We're committed to providing a harassment-free experience at every Applied AI event, including meetups, conferences, podcast recordings, and the online spaces around them, for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, ethnicity, religion or lack thereof, experience level, or the tools and technologies they choose to use.
Harassment of any kind isn't tolerated. This standard applies to everyone who participates, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, organizers, and volunteers, and it extends to social events, our online communities, and social media connected to our events. Anyone asked to stop a behavior is expected to do so immediately. Participants who violate this code may be removed from an event and, where warranted, from future participation.
If something happens that concerns you, tell an organizer right away or email team@appliedai.mn.
Thank you to our community for helping make every Applied AI event a welcoming and engaging place for everyone.
